Navel Jewellery

A popular place for piercing is the navel, and as such, there’s a wide variety of jewellery available for the belly button area. Usually, the first piece of jewellery worn in a belly button piercing is a simple barbell, because these are easy to remove, clean and replace. Once the piercing has healed, virtually any sort of jewellery can be worn in the navel piercing.

Popular styles for belly button rings include: the simple barbell or bananabell, with balls or charms on either end, these are the least likely to snag on clothing; rings with dangling charms; rings with fixed charms; rings with ‘orbital’ charms; and, novelty navel rings featuring virtually any type of decoration you could imagine. From sports teams to lady bugs with wiggling legs, your imagination really is the limit – particularly as there are a number of online jewellers who will craft a belly button ring to meet your needs.

Decoartive jewellery for the belly button often includes gemstones or crystals that dangle from a captive bead or other ring-shaped piece of body jewellery. If you’re purchasing a piece of navel jewellery for someone else, bear in mind the weight of the piece as anything that dangles is likely to snag on clothes and could cause an injury.

There are also a number of non-piercing navel rings available for those who don’t have a piercing. Some of these belly button jewels are designed to be glued on, some are inserted into the navel and others clip on – so you can have the same fashionable body jewellery as your pierced friends without the potential for infection or pain a piercing brings.

When shopping for a belly button ring online, be sure to ask the jeweller about their return and refund policy, that way if the ring doesn’t meet your expectations you’ll know where you stand.
